Basic Riders:

1Q. Who teaches the RiderCourses?
1A:   All OOSI motorcycle course are taught by RiderCoaches / Instructors, who are certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF).

2Q. How many riders are trained in one Basic RiderCourse?

2A:   At OOSI motorcycle training school, we believe in the success of our students, that is why we limit our classes to 9 riders (typically 12) giving our students the BEST motorcycle safety training as possible.

3Q. What does getting a “Motorcycle Only” driver license involve?

3A: 

  • Be at least 16 years old, and if under 18, hold a Learner’s License for one year with no traffic convictions.
  • Pass the same knowledge test as for a regular Class E operator’s driver license.
  • You must complete the basic motorcycle safety course.
  • After you complete the course, go to a driver’s license office that issues licenses.
  • After you complete the course: Upon providing proper ID and paying the required endorsement fees, your license will be issued with a motorcycle endorsement.


4Q. Are passengers allowed?

4A:   No.

5Q. Can I bring a friend or family member with me when I take the course?
5A:  No.

6Q. What do I need to bring with me to the Basic RidersCourseSM to ride the motorcycle?

6A:

  • DOT Helmet
  • Sturdy long pants i.e., jean
  • Long sleeve shirt or jacket
  • Eye protection i.e., sunglasses
  • Full finger gloves (full hand coverage)

7Q. What size motorcycles to you use?
7A:  For the Basic RiderCourseSM, we use 125cc training motorcycles.

8Q. Can I use my own motorcycle for the Basic RidersCourse?

8A:  Most students prefer to use our motorcycles, but if you prefer to use your own motorcycle, it must be less than ___cc’s, in safe running condition, and you must provide a current registration and proof of insurance.

9Q. Do I have to be a certain height?
9A:  Although we do not require a minimum height, rider must be able to touch the ground with both feet (flat-footed) when straddling on the motorcycle.

10Q. Do I have to go to the DMV to get my license after completing the course?
10A:  Yes. Upon pass & completion of the Basic RidersCourseSM, students can then proceed to any local Tax Collectors office or DHMV office to purchase a new driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement.

11Q. What if it is raining the day we are supposed to train on the range?

11A:  We will ride regardless of weather. Exceptions would be in the case of lightning or extreme wind. Your OOSI RiderCoach is the final authority and will make the decision to stop range exercises. Be prepared to get wet, bring rain gear. Temperatures can get high in Florida. Therefore, we do recommend you wear sun screen and bring water.


Advanced Riders

1Q. What is the goal of the Advanced RiderCourseSM (ARC)?

1A:   To promote self-assessment and behavior modification, with a strong message about risk management.

2Q. What size motorcycles to you use?

2A:   For the Advanced RiderCourseSM, students can bring their own motorcycle, or use one of our training motorcycles.

3Q. What do I need to bring with me to the Basic RidersCourseSM to ride the motorcycle?

3A:

1A:   

  • The fundamentals for you to develop the capabilities to becaome a safe and responsible rider.
  • Provides you the opportunity for you to learn the physicial and mental skills important for operating a 3-Wheel motorcycle.
  • Classroom activities and discussions.
  • On the range rider training.


2Q. What are the requirements to participate the 3-Wheel Basic RiderCourseSM? .

2A:   

  • Bring your own 3-wheel motorcycle
