Motorcycle Safety Training  - Basic Rider Course - Learn to Ride a Motorcycle

If you want to ride a motorcycle in the State of Florida you must have a Motorcycle Endorsement on your Drivers license.

As of July 2008, Florida Motorcycle Laws have changed and it will affect everyone who wants to ride a motorcycle in the State of Florida. The State of Florida will now require all riders, regardless of age, who want to ride a motorcycle in the State of Florida to take a MANDATORY 15 hour Basic Rider Course.  The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle will no longer conduct knowledge tests or skills testing.  All riders must show proof of successful completion of the 15 hour Basic Rider Course to receive the “Motorcycle Also” endorsement on their Drivers License.

Important Info
Students must posses a valid Drivers License or valid Florida Learner’s permit to participate in the Basic Rider Course. Students must be a minimum of 15 years and 9 months of age. Students must have the ability to ride a bicycle before attempting this course. All students will be required to sign a release and waiver form before starting the course. Students under 18 years old will need a parent or guardian’s signature on a waiver form.

Student will be required to provide

1. Over the ankle footwear – No high heels or thick soles
2. Jeans or sturdy long pants – No baggy or flared styles
3. Long sleeved shirt or jacket
4. Rain Gear – optional, but highly recommended

Students not having the first 3 items will not be allowed to proceed with the course. The class will be held rain or shine, so rain gear is recommended.

You can wear your own sunglasses, DOT approved helmet, and full finger gloves, if you wish.
